World’s largest Solar farm in China

China has launched the largest solar farm in the world. The solar power plant located in Qinghai in the region of Tibetan Plateau has almost four million solar panels.It claims to produce two-third of the total solar panels in the world.

The  Longyangxia power station produces 850 MW electricity which is supposed to supply the energy for as many as 200,000 houses.  The solar power plant spread in the 27 km was built by investing 6 billion Chinese yuan (approx. 900 million US dollars). China, one of the greatest polluter in the world, has ambitious plans for the renewable energy.

  1. At $1 per watt is much cheaper then another solar plant built in Morocco at cost $10 per watt.
    Without even special garnts or goverment dotation much more competitive cost then traditional thermal power station.
