Nepal Physical Society and NRN USA today organized a program on ‘Brain Drain and its impact on Nation’s Economic and Technological Development.’ The program was conducted at Nepal Tourism Board hall in Pradasanimarg, Kathmandu at 12:00 which lasted almost three hours.The program was attended by about 100 participants.
The program host, secretary of Nepal Physical Society Prof. Dr. Narayan Adhikari started the program by requesting the former HoD of Central Department of Physics, Tribhuvan University Prof. Dr. Shekhar Gurung for his short speech on the program topic. Prof. Gurung emphasized on the importance of science and technology for the country and need to mobilize the manpower for the developmental works in the country. Some of the program speakers were secretary of science and technology, vice chancellor of Nepal Academy of Science and Technology(NAST), former ministers, politicians and senior professors of the country.
Scientific Mind was told by co-organizer of the program, NRN USA advisor Dr. Rudra Aryal that this kind of program is necessary for building strong connections between Nepal and USA. He further added ‘ There are about 600 PhD Nepalese scholars in USA who are always ready to share their skills and techniques for the development of Nepal.’
